REIFSNYDER MAY STEAL THE SPOTLIGHT FROM THE WOMEN.(Sports)

For the last couple of years of its 13- year existence, the Schenectady-to- Albany Road race more closely resembled the Run for Women than the male-dominated Chopperthon it had been previously.

After years in which the 30-kilometer race had been dominated by the likes of Bill Rodgers, who set a world record of 1:29.04 in the 1976 race, Tom Fleming, Barry Brown, Phil Coppess and Pete Pfitzinger, two women - Ann Hird and Lisa Larsen Weidenbach - stole the show in 1984 and 1985 by breaking the women's 30-k national record.
