NT:$US32b Ichthys project to be announced

DARWIN, Jan 13 AAP - Senior politicians and business leaders are to hold a media conference
in Darwin where it is expected they will announce a huge gas deal has been given final
approval.

There has been widespread speculation over the past few days that an announcement approving
the $US32 billion ($A31.03 billion) Ichthys gas project is imminent.

A short statement from Inpex on Friday said a media conference at 9.30am (CST) (1100
AEDT) would officially provide the final investment decision on the Ichthys project.
